Screw conveyors are continuous conveyors without traction means. They usually consist of a closed conveyor trough or conveyor pipe in which the conveyor screw rotates continuously around its own axis. The conveying screw is therefore the only rotating component. Screw conveyors are characterized by their simple, robust and inexpensive design.
Screw conveyors can be used for the transport of powdery, fine-grained and lumpy bulk materials with widely varying bulk material properties. This means that they can be used for the transport of easy-flowing, cohesive bulk materials or also slow-flowing, cohesive bulk materials.
