When starting with CFD simulations the first question you ask yourself probably is:  “Is there any free software I can use?”. With OpenFoam you can get a very powerful open source tool that can handle the most CFD problems without any problems. However, due to the lack of a windows version and the no graphical user interface (GUI) the hurdle can be quite high to get started. The first hurdle would be: “How can I install OpenFoam8?”

We created a little installation tutorial which should give answers to this questions und lower the entry hurdly. It starts with the installation of UBUNTU 20.04, OpenFoam 8 and finishes with your first real OpenFoam simulation.
